Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination

 

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has been constituted by the Government of Bihar in accordance with the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act 1995. 

The Board presently conducts Combined Competitive Entrance Examinations (BCECE) for admission in Graduate level Vocational Courses in Engineering, Medical and Agricultural streams available in the Universities, Colleges and Institutions of the State of Bihar as well as those situated outside Bihar against State Quota seats.

The Board also conducts Post Graduate Medical Admission Test (PGMAT) for admission in Post Graduate Medical Course in Medical Colleges of the State of Bihar.


The Board has also been conducting following examinations:
Combined Entrance Competitive Examination for admission in various Polytechnic, Para Medical-Dental (Matric Level) and Para Medical (Intermediate Level) courses in Government or Government Recognised Institutions in the State of Bihar.

Combined Entrance Competitive Examination for admission to different Certificate courses of Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) of Bihar state.

Courses

Engineering / Pharmacy Stream: Degree Courses in the Govt. /Govt. Recognised Technical Institutions of Bihar and Technical Institutions outside Bihar (State Quota). 

Medical Stream: MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ B.Ph.T. / B.Th.O. In Government Colleges of Bihar and in other similar courses of this stream. 

Agriculture Stream: Degree Courses of Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification
A pass in Intermediate Examination with Chemistry, Physics and Maths as subjects or appearance at 2 nd year Intermediate Examination (10 + 2 pattern) conducted by the Bihar State Government, Education Department, with appropriate optional subjects or its equivalent thereto.

Minimum Age limit: 
For Engineering/ Pharmacy Stream, there is no minimum age limit 
For Medical Stream, the minimum age must be 17 years as on 31st December, 2007 and 
For Agriculture Stream, the minimum age must be 17 years as on 1st July, 2007.

Domicile Restrictions: 

Residents of Bihar. Candidates whose parents are employees to Tata Iron & Steel Company are eligible to seek admission at Bihar Institute of Technology (BIT), Sindri only.

 

Exam Pattern

The BCECE comprises of three papers of Physics, Chemistry and Maths for Engineering and Physics, Chemistry and Biology for Medical stream of 1 hour duration each. The standard of exam is that of Intermediate and the medium is in English.

Physics syllabus for JCECE :

General Properties of Matter, Heat, Measurement and Kinematics, Mechanics, Wave motion, Sound, Light, Laws of Motion, Gravitation, Oscillations, Thermodynamics, 

Magnetic Effect of Current and Magnetism, Electron Physics, Radiation, Optics, Semiconductor Devices, Atomic Physics, Electrostatics, and Current Electricity. 

Chemistry syllabus for JCECE :

Basic Concepts and Atomic Structure, Periodic Properties of Elements and Hydrogen, S-Block, P-Block, D-Block and F-Block Elements, Electrochemistry, Chemical 

Equilibrium, Stereochemistry, Laws of Gases, Functional Groups Containing Oxygen, Halogens, Nitrogen, Polymers, Purification and Characterization of Organic Compounds, 

Chemical Kinetics, Redox Reactions, and Environmental Chemistry. 

Mathematics syllabus for JCECE :

Complex Numbers, Sequences and Series, Permutations, Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Sets, Relations and Functions, Matrices and Determinants, Linear equations, 

Boolean Algebra, Trigonometric functions, Three Dimensional Geometry, Statistics, Vectors, Differential Equations, Integrals, Lines, Circles and Conic sections.
