JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination) is a top-level Entrance Exam of India, conducted by CBSE, for those Aspirants who wish to pursue Engineering and Architecture courses. Candidates interested in engineering (B.E/B.Tech) admissions appear in Paper 1 and those interested in architecture (B.Arch/B.Planning) admissions appear in Paper 2.

Based on JEE Main, candidates can get admissions in B.Tech, B.E, B.Arch courses in NITs, CFTIs and other engineering institutions, though IITs & ISM offer admission to these courses through JEE Advanced examination. Candidates who qualify JEE Main Exam will be considered eligible to appear in JEE Advanced examination.

As per the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, there shall be no weightage for the 12th class marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE (Main) examination.

Since there is no weightage of class 12th marks in calculation of ranks in JEE Main 2018, so, the roll number of class 12th is not verified this year by the CBSE, however, at the reporting centers at the time of counselling/admission in IITs/NITs/IIITs and other CFTIs, Aspirants should have obtained 75% marks in the 12th examination or must be in the top 20 percentiles in the 12th examination of respective boards. The qualifying marks for SC/ST will be 65%.
